If you are reading this blog, you are most likely aware of our adoption story. Even so, I’d like to take this opportunity to share it once again. It was first written by Dillon’s “Christmas Warrior," Theresa, on her blog found here. She did a beautiful job and I think you can read between her lines and feel the amount of emotion shared by all of us involved. I am so thankful for Theresa and her heart for Dillon! You will also find our story on Reece's Rainbow's "New Commitments" page found here.
Of course, there are many details not found in those posts, so I plan to share those in the days to come. Adoption blogs have been a source of encouragement and inspiration to me along this journey, and I love to think that God could use my blog to do the same for others.
Dillon is in a country in Eastern Europe that needs to remain unnamed in my blog. This country is sensitive about special needs adoptions, and I must use discretion with what I write online. Also, I will continue to use the name “Dillon” when referring to our sweet boy. “Dillon” is not his real name, but is the name given to him by Reece’s Rainbow to protect his privacy. We have been told his real name and we plan to keep it, but can't share it here. Since he is already 3 ½ years old, he is probably quite attached to his real name! Want to hear something really beautiful? His real name literally means “Yahweh is merciful.” Yes, He is!
Glenn and I want to thank all of you for your prayers and encouragement. God has placed us on this journey, and you are a part of it with us! We are open books when it comes to our adoption process, and please don't hesitate to ask us any questions! In fact, we can't think of anything we'd rather talk about right now!
